The talk show at KIM University - 27th October 2017

27th October 2017, in partnership with KIM University, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Rwanda (iCPAR) conducted the career day event introducing to the 8 secondary schools students about iCPAR professional courses.

It is in this regards that, Delegates of institute of Certified Public Accountants of Rwanda (iCPAR) participated in the talk and presentation about professional courses offered by iCPAR:

> Certified Public Accountants (CPA),
> Certified Accounting Technician (CAT).


As the professional accountancy organization (PAO) mandated by law number 11/2008 to regulate the accounting profession in the Republic of Rwanda, one of the functions iCPAR is mandated to undertake is to develop teaching programs, organize examinations and issue certificates in matters relating to accounting profession.

Given that the labor market and employers now require professional qualifications, it was a great opportunity to promote iCPAR accounting professional courses to secondary school students during the career day in order to inspire them in regard to career development.

In his speech, CPA Peter Rutaremara 1st iCPAR President, talked about the importance of accounting professional courses, anticipation while deciding for his/her career and his testimony as one of the very few qualified accountants in the country.

CPA Peter experienced long and tuff journey transforming people’s understanding into a crucial influential mindset to pursue accounting professional courses in order to safeguard public interest and avoid numerous problems ranging from corporate governance to mismanagement of public funds.

During his presentation, CPA Sunday Kalisa, the director for professional standards and services at iCPAR, mentioned that “It’s our major responsibility to promote accounting professional courses, offer required skills to allow them prepare financial statements in accordance with applicable standards” he said

As a milestone in the achievement of her objectives, iCPAR has conducted the 10th accounting professional examinations for Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Accounting Technician (CAT).

iCPAR will conduct 11th examinations for CPA and CAT qualifications from 27th November to 1st December 2017 over 1200 students will sit for these examinations.

The overall pass rates of CAT and CPA is increasing due to appropriate preparedness by students and iCPAR that is offering standard exam papers.
